Youth Choirs
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy of singing. While private voice study is often most effective once a young singer has moved through the changes of adolescence, children can—and should—begin developing healthy vocal habits much earlier. Our Youth Choirs provide a fun, supportive environment where young singers can build technique, musicality, confidence, and a lifelong love of singing.
Our Explorers Choir, designed for ages 8–11, introduces young singers to the fundamentals of healthy singing. Students learn proper breathing, posture, pitch, rhythm, diction, and ensemble skills while discovering how their individual voices work together as part of a group. Instruction is age-appropriate and focuses on building strong foundations without placing unnecessary strain on developing voices.
Our Adventurers & Legends Choir, for ages 12–18, builds on those foundations with more advanced vocal technique, harmony, musicianship, and performance skills. As students' voices develop, they learn to use greater control, expression, and vocal independence while tackling increasingly challenging repertoire.
Across both levels, our goal is to help young singers develop healthy habits before poor ones have a chance to take hold. Students gain the skills and confidence to continue into private voice lessons, musical theatre, show choir, or simply keep singing for the joy of it. Most importantly, they discover that their voice is something worth developing, caring for, and sharing.
Explorers Choir
Ages 8-11 years old
This choir is designed for young and aspiring singers who enjoy singing and want to take their skills to the next level. The class will focus on proper singing and breathing techniques, and will offer students an introduction to music theory. The choir will learn songs and perform out in the community, as well as at Allegro events and Recitals.
Adventures/Legends Show Choir
Ages 12-18 years old
This choir is designed for students who have already developed a love for singing and performing. In this class, students will work on more challenging musical arrangements - all with performance and showmanship in mind. Much of the music performed in this class will be Musical Theatre and Contemporary songs. Students will learn correct singing and breathing techniques, as well as harmonizing skills and music theory. The choir will perform out in the community, as well as at Allegro events and Recitals.
