Allegro Youth Theatre (AYT)

Our desire is to offer quality instruction to students of all ages. Our theatre instruction is designed to provide students training, leading to skills on the theatre stage and in life. Classes include a variety of topics ranging from character development, script analysis, and monologues. Students will be given different performance opportunities throughout the year.

All classes will run from August through May, with a final performance in April/May/June.

 

All classes will also perform a scene from their show in the end of year Allegro Showcase.

Discover MAD Skills

Ages 5-7 years old

A class for our youngest thespians.  Students will learn about the three staples of Musical Theatre - Music, Acting and Dance. Students will have an opportunity to perform in both program semesters:

  • One song at one of the Adventurers Cabaret performances on Friday 12/11/26 or Saturday 12/12/26  (Please keep dates open)

  • In part of the Spring Explorers Performance Friday 5/14/27, Saturday 5/15/27, and Sunday 5/16/27 (Please keep dates open)

 

RECOMMENDED DUAL ENROLLMENT:  Discover Level Jazz, Tap, Ballet

AYT Explorers

Ages 8-11 years old

A class for our thespians aged 8-11 who are eager to continue learning about Musical Theatre and elevating their singing, acting, and dancing skills. This class has open enrollment but will have auditions for parts with all students being cast. At home practice is necessary for memorizing lines, music and choreography. Explorers will perform a full MTI KIDS show in each program semester:

  • SEMESTER 1 SHOW DATES: Saturday 12/5/26 & Sunday 12/6/26

  • SEMESTER 2 SHOW DATES: Friday 5/14/27, Saturday 5/15/27, Sunday 5/16/27

  • Extra rehearsals will be needed for both performances.  Those extra rehearsal dates will be published in August for Semester 1 and January for Semester 2

  • The Semester 1 Show Title will be announced by June 1st

  • The Semester 2 Show Title will be announced by November 1st

AYT Adventures

Ages 12-18 years old

A class for our older thespians who are passionate about Musical Theatre and still developing their singing, acting, and dancing skills. This class has open enrollment, but will have auditions for parts with all students being cast. At home practice is necessary for memorizing lines, music, and choreography. Adventurers will perform in each program semester with a Cabaret in Semester 1 and a full JR. show in Semester 2:

  • SEMESTER 1 CABARET DATES: Friday 12/11/26 & Saturday 12/12/26

  • SEMESTER 2 SHOW DATES: Friday 5/21/27, Saturday 5/22/27, Sunday 5/23/27

  • Extra rehearsals will be needed for both performances. Those extra rehearsal dates will be published in August for Semester 1 and January for Semester 2.

  • The Spring Show Title will be announced by November 1st

 

RECOMMENDED DUAL ENROLLMENT: Adventurers/Legends Performing Choir, Adventurers Jazz, Tap, Ballet (or appropriate skill level dance instruction in Jazz & Tap)

Previous Shows

AYT Legends

Ages 12-18 years old

Legends is our highest level AYT class offering. Students in this class must have a strong established skill set in singing, acting and dance and a desire for high level instruction to continue honing their Musical Theatre skills. This class is fast paced with more challenging material. At home practice is critical for memorizing lines, music and choreography. This class is by audition only.

There will be a rolling audition/admission window from May to June 2026 for students interested in joining the Legends class. 

 

Legends will perform in each program semester with a Cabaret in Semester 1 and a full-length show in Semester 2:

  • SEMESTER 1 CABARET DATES: Friday 1/8/27 & Saturday 1/9/27 (Please reserve 1/15/27 & 1/16/27 for inclement weather dates, just in case)

  • SEMESTER 2 SHOW DATES: Saturday 6/5/27, Sunday 6/6/27, Friday 6/11/27, Saturday 6/12/27, Sunday 6/13/27

  • Extra rehearsals will be needed for both performances. Those extra rehearsal dates will be published in August for Semester 1 and January for Semester 2.

  • The Spring Show Title will be announced by November 1st
