Patricia Hendrix
Ballet
Patricia Hendrix began studying dance at the age of six in Warrenton, Virginia under Joyce D'Urso and later attended In Motion dance studio under the direction of Laura Crowne. At age eleven, Patricia began studying at the Loudoun School of Ballet with a full scholarship and performed as a soloist with the Loudoun Ballet Company. Patricia has also studied at The Richmond Ballet, The Russell School of Ballet, Shenandoah Conservatory, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, Joffrey School of Ballet, George Mason University, and Steps on Broadway. She has studied under Bart Cook, Maria Calegari, Gene Murray, Malcolm Burn, and Judy Jacob. In 2005, Patricia opened On Your Toes, Inc., a dance studio in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and later, The Tahlequah Ballet Company, a pre-professional not-for-profit ballet company. As Artistic Director of The Tahlequah Ballet Company, she produced full length annual Nutcracker performances. In 2009, she sold her companies and moved back to Northern Virginia due to her husband's job transfer. Patricia has taught hundreds of students across the country, some of whom are now professional dancers, teachers, and studio owners.
