The program is designed to develop the triple threat actor - Theatre Voice & Dance. Students are encouraged to study all three areas in order to give themselves a competitive edge in the world of Musical Theatre.
The program consists of weekly classes offered at the Allegro campus. Throughout the year master classes will be offered in all three areas to supplement and enhance the weekly classes.
Allegro’s goal is to prepare students with the best tools possible. Students are encouraged to hone their skill to the level of their desire - go all out to prepare for a college entrance audition or plan for career or master the skills needed to land roles in local theatre companies. Our instructors will teach skills needed for both.
Hone your vocal skills in a private lesson with an Allegro instructor, most who have a background in theatre. Choral Ensembles give students the experience of singing in a group.
A variety of classes are offered in all aspects of the stage: history of theatre, acting technique, private acting, stage management, and technical training – sets, lights, and sound. Technical students will be given hands on training while working with an Allegro stage member.
Dance for Theatre
"There is no such thing as 'just a dancer' on Broadway anymore," according to Diane Laurenson in the Dance Informa. https://www.danceinforma.com/2011/07/03/breaking-into-broadway/
"You must immerse yourself in all styles, starting with ballet for a strong base."
Allegro Dance will offer a solid foundation in ballet, jazz, modern, tap, hip hop & ballroom. All dance classes are designed to offer students the skills needed to succeed in the Theatre.
Adult classes are also offered.
