Music Lessons
Private Instruction
Available for children, teens, and adults of every skill level, individual instruction is at the heart of the Allegro music education program. In private lessons, students receive the benefit of one-on-one attention and a program of study tailored to their individual needs.
When a student is placed with a private instructor, registration is implied for the entire school year (36-lesson school year from September to June). New students are enthusiastically welcomed to the School at any time during the school year; tuition is prorated according to the starting date. Note: rates are slightly increased for faculty members with Post-Graduate degrees; these increases will be clearly communicated by the Registrar at the time of registration.
$1,080, equal monthly installments of $108
Group Instruction
Group lessons are an excellent starting point for children, teens, or adults with no previous music training and provide a strong foundation for future instruction. Group instruction is offered for most instruments; contact the School Registrar for more information and placement.
Consultation and Trial Lessons
Placement of new students is handled with great care. Allegro offers individualized assistance to those who are undecided about where to begin, what instrument to study or what type of instruction might be most appropriate. These details can be discussed in a free consultation with our Registrar or staff. Allegro also offers Trial Lessons for those who would like to try out a teacher before making a semester-long commitment. The cost for a 30-minute trial lesson is $25.
Master Classes
Many Allegro Instructors supplement the curriculum of their weekly lessons with studio workshops. Typically, two to four sessions are held during each school year. Students perform for one another in a supportive, non-competitive atmosphere; investigate the literature of their chosen instrument, develop accompanying, sight-reading and ensemble skills, and enjoy the encouragement and inspiration of their fellow students. Times are scheduled by individual teachers for the Master Classes, and may replace the student’s private lesson for the week.
Music Ensembles
Ensemble participation is one of the most rewarding and valuable aspects of a student’s musical education. Ensemble experience helps hone rhythmic and listening skills, encourages teamwork and demands collaboration.
Some ensembles are preset in the Allegro schedule, and are available for immediate registration. However these ensembles represent only a handful of the ensemble grouping opportunities available. Allegro will work with any interested student (child, teen, or adult) to try to create an ensemble by matching students’ interests, abilities, instruments or voice parts, and availability. To be placed in an ensemble, submit a registration form with your interests and preferred days and times. You will be contacted by the School Registrar promptly for placement.
A $10 Discount applies to ensemble students also registered for private instruction with Allegro.

Early Childhood Programs
Research shows that we are all born with an aptitude for music, but that aptitude diminishes if it is not actively nurtured between the ages of birth and 7 years. We at Allegro believe early childhood music education prepares young students for a life of independent musicianship. Fun, games, and lots of movement for this active age, where our award-winning instructors strive to inspire a lifelong love of music.
In the event of classes missed due to school closure, makeup classes will be added to the end of the session. Allegro CSA does not offer refunds or reduced tuition for classes missed due to student absence, however, students are invited to attend classes scheduled on alternate days in order to make up a lesson with prior permission from the Instructor.
Class schedule is subject to change, depending on enrollment.
