Allegro Community School of the Arts is happy to welcome Lynne Cox as the new Executive Director. Lynne brings a wealth of experience from her nine year tenure as Headmaster at Midland Christian Academy and administrative experience in other private schools. Her extensive roots in the community include serving as the board president of the Southern Fauquier Business Owners Association, chair of the Business Advisory Council to the Fauquier Board of Supervisors, and serves on the Balanced Growth Alliance. Lynne holds degrees in Music and English, a Masters in Voice Pedagogy and has taught ESL, Music Theory, Music History, and Voice classes.

Lynne Cox was unanimously voted on and approved by the Allegro CSA Board of Directors and Executive Founding Officer, Cyndi Romero. Cyndi, along with her husband Marc, her father, Sam Yoder, and his wife, Lachelle Yoder, founded Allegro CSA five years ago, and from its inception Cyndi has served as our Executive Director. Cyndi recently made the decision to step down as Executive Director to focus more on her love of teaching and to spend more time with her family. After five years of growth and success Cyndi is happy to step into her new role as Executive Founding Officer on the Board of Directors to continue to offer support and guidance to Allegro CSA.

Lynne brings with her fresh and exciting ideas in the areas of capital campaigning, fundraising and advertising to promote Allegro’s continued growth. We welcome you, Lynne!

One of the challenges we faced this past Performathon was trying to schedule all of our students within a 12 hour block of time. With over 450 students to schedule this seemed like an impossible task. Added to that was our brand new Youth Orchestra, dance, and ballet performances. There is plenty of room for these groups to rehearse but no room for an audience.

Through generous donations from Lowes in Gainesville, Connor Landscaping, Bontrager Masonry, and Andrew Coyne we were able to construct an outdoor performance stage. Allegro In The Woods became a reality in a few short days and is now an important part of our strategy to provide a performance venue for our students.

It took a lot of work (and a lot of favors) but we are proud of our outdoor stage and the many uses we have in store for it. Thank you for your support and check back soon for an upcoming schedule of outdoor summer events!

We are excited about what December holds for Allegro in our community. Here are some highlights of what has happened and what is coming this December:

Christmas in Old Town December 4, 2009 This year Allegro C.S.A. was honored to participate in the annual “Christmas in Old Town” celebration of Warrenton.
Allegro student and faculty performances included: Youth Orchestra, Ballet Ensemble with excerpts from the Nutcracker (featuring a Chinese Dragon from our art department!), Guitar Ensemble, and Vocal Ensemble.

St. James Episcopal School Christmas Program December. 17 & 18, 2009, 11am Allegro students and Faculty will perform prelude and accompaniment for St. James students.
